Rescue From Misty Island is a Take-n-Play set in the Misty Island Rescue theme. It includes Thomas and a two-sided fold-out playset with ramp track, ramp track support, tunnel, and log cargo. One side features Misty Island with a logging crane and Shake Shake Bridge at the top of the set and a figure 8 of brown track at the bottom. The other side features Sodor with a tunnel, a ramp, a semi-circle track piece, and the Sodor Search and Rescue Centre.
The crane can be used to lift the log cargo from the track. Sliding the lever at the top of the set activates Shake Shake Bridge, which moves Thomas across and down the ramp through the tunnel back to the Sodor side. Sliding a lever at the Sodor Search and Rescue Centre up reveals another hidden tunnel to the Misty Island side. Additional sets and track can be connected to three points. The set can be stored by disconnecting the tunnel and attaching it to the top level, disconnecting the ramp track and support and placing them inside the set, pushing the logging crane down, and folding up the track support and both sides of the track layout.
Trivia
- This set was originally going to be called Return From Misty Island.
- The early prototype design features light colors with unpainted details, a red logging crane, a black tunnel, all of the ramp track brown, and a light brown track barrier with an additional track connector. Harold is also shown on the box art.
- The prototype features a blue handle on the logging crane instead of red.
- Captain is shown on the box art despite not being included in the set.
